Submission Terms

1. About this activity
Share Your Wild Side is a children’s creative activity organized by Naturewise Columbus, publisher of Ribbit! Magazine.
This is not a competition, sweepstakes or drawing. Submissions will not be judged and recipients will not be selected randomly. The first 20 submissions received that follow these terms will receive a Wild Republic® Flipkins sensory toy. Every child whose submission follows these terms will receive a special thank-you card.
No purchase or donation is required. Making a purchase or donation will not affect participation or the gifts received.
2. Who may participate
The activity is open to children ages 5 through 14 who live in Franklin County, Ohio.
A parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years old must complete the submission form on the child’s behalf. Children should not complete or submit the form themselves.
Only one submission, one thank-you card and one Flipkins toy may be received per child.
Naturewise Columbus employees, board members, volunteers involved in administering this activity and members of their immediate households are not eligible to receive a Flipkins toy.
3. Submission period
Submissions will be accepted beginning at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time on September 7, 2026 and ending at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on November 30, 2026.
The date and time recorded by the Naturewise Columbus submission system will determine when an online submission was received.
4. How to participate
A parent or legal guardian must:
- Visit ribbitmagazine.com/share.
- Complete the adult submission form.
- Upload a clear photograph, scan or PDF of the child’s nature story or artwork.
- Agree to these Submission Terms and the Naturewise Columbus Privacy Policy.
- Provide an electronic signature.
- Submit the completed form during the submission period.
There is no fee to participate.
5. Submission guidelines
Each submission must:
- Be a nature story or original artwork created by the child
- Be appropriate for children and families
- Be submitted as a JPG, PNG or PDF file no larger than 10 MB
- Contain no child’s face, last name, school name, home address, phone number or other identifying information
- Contain no threatening, discriminatory, violent or otherwise inappropriate material
- Not copy another person’s work or include material the child does not have permission to use
- Not be generated by artificial intelligence
Naturewise Columbus may decline a submission that does not follow these guidelines. If practical, we may contact the parent or legal guardian and offer an opportunity to correct an incomplete submission before the closing date. The corrected submission will be considered received when the correction is submitted.
6. Gifts
The first 20 complete submissions received that follow these terms will each receive one Wild Republic® Flipkins sensory toy.
Toy styles may vary and will be selected based on availability. A particular animal or style cannot be guaranteed. The approximate retail value of each toy is $9.99. A toy cannot be transferred, exchanged for cash or replaced with another item at the recipient’s request.
Every child whose submission follows these terms and is received during the submission period will receive one special thank-you card.
Naturewise Columbus may substitute a gift of equal or greater value if an advertised item becomes unavailable for reasons outside its reasonable control.
Flipkins toys are provided by Wild Republic®. Naturewise Columbus is responsible for administering this activity and answering questions about participation.
7. Notification and delivery
Naturewise Columbus will contact the parent or legal guardian using the email address provided on the form. Gifts will be mailed to the adult’s address provided with the submission within approximately six weeks after the submission period closes.
Naturewise Columbus is not responsible for delivery delays or gifts that cannot be delivered because an incorrect or incomplete mailing address was provided. If a gift is returned, we will make a reasonable effort to contact the parent or legal guardian.
Parents and guardians should review and follow all age guidance, labels and instructions provided with the toy.
8. Ownership and permission to publish
The child retains ownership of the submitted story or artwork.
By submitting the form, the parent or legal guardian gives Naturewise Columbus nonexclusive, royalty-free and ongoing permission to reproduce, edit for spelling or formatting, publish, display and share the submitted work in:
- Print and digital editions of Ribbit! Magazine
- Ribbitmagazine.com and naturewisecolumbus.org
- Naturewise Columbus social media accounts
- Email newsletters
- Educational, fundraising and promotional materials relating to Ribbit! Magazine or Naturewise Columbus
Naturewise Columbus may crop, resize or format the work to fit a publication or design but will not intentionally change the meaning of a child’s story.
Naturewise Columbus may identify the child by first name, age and city. We will not publish the child’s last name, school, home address, email address or phone number.
Submission does not guarantee publication. Naturewise Columbus may choose whether, when and where to publish a submission. No payment will be provided for publication.
Naturewise Columbus will not sell the submitted work as a separate product or place it on merchandise without obtaining additional permission from the parent or legal guardian.
A parent or legal guardian may contact Naturewise Columbus at contact@naturewisecolumbus.org to request that the work no longer be used in future online or promotional materials. We will make reasonable efforts to honor the request. Materials that have already been printed, distributed or shared cannot always be recalled or removed.
9. Privacy
The submission form is intended for parents and legal guardians. Naturewise Columbus will use the information provided to administer the activity, communicate with the adult submitting the work, determine gift recipients, deliver the applicable gift and publish submissions as permitted by these terms.
Information will be handled according to the Naturewise Columbus Privacy Policy linked on the submission form. We do not sell personal information collected through this activity.
Parents and legal guardians may contact us to request access to, correction of or deletion of information associated with their child’s submission, subject to information we must retain for legal or administrative purposes and materials that have already been printed or distributed.
Mailing addresses and other information used only for gift delivery will be deleted within six months after the gifts are delivered unless continued retention is reasonably necessary to resolve a delivery issue or comply with a legal obligation.
Submission files selected for publication may be retained as long as reasonably necessary for the uses authorized in Section 8. Files that are not selected for publication will be deleted within six months after the submission period closes.
10. Electronic signature
By typing their full legal name and submitting the form, the parent or legal guardian confirms that they intend to sign electronically and agree to these Submission Terms.
Naturewise Columbus will retain a record of the agreement, electronic signature and date of submission.
11. Newsletter choice
Participation does not require joining the Ribbit! email list. A parent or legal guardian may subscribe separately by selecting the optional newsletter box. That box will not be selected automatically.
12. Technical problems or misuse
Naturewise Columbus may reject duplicate, automated, altered, incomplete or fraudulent submissions.
Naturewise Columbus may pause, extend or modify the activity if technical problems or circumstances outside its reasonable control prevent it from operating fairly as described. Any material change will be posted at ribbitmagazine.com/share.
